This is getting ridiculous.
I sit for 4 hours waiting to get loaded, finally get pulled in and loaded with under an hour of drive time, and my reefers dead. So I have too book it over to the Thermo King and their lot is a cluster of trucks trying to get in. So now I’m sitting with no time left wondering when I’m gonna get looked. If I’m lucky I get to spend my 10 in a gravel lot, not eat, then get up at midnight and haul ### to make my delivery.

Welcome to trucking/refrigerated lol. Reasons why I want LTL. I make 59cpm when I run line haul. Goes up to 67cpm, plus cost of living raises every year, plus accessory pay for hooks, drops, and fuel, and the detention pay is 23-30/hour. And if you dont make it home, you get put up in a hotel.

Now you’re just showing off
Ray Strack Thanks this. -
Lol trucking is not always glamorous and the extreme cold is hard on equipment, many of us have been there and it’s a bump and not a wall.
Alway try and have snacks and something to drink with you even if you don’t have a microwave yet, reefers often get delayed for one reason or another, it sucks - heck got me into tarpping in -12 F weather just or get away lol.
Getting an experienced drivers number to call and help you learn the system will go miles to helping you reduce your frustration.Zata40 Thanks this. -
Or pull an open deck and stay away from box trailers.

It's all the same, just different!

We've seen this conversation before the last time someone said that lol. Personally, I love pulling a wiggle wagon the most. Most people are too nervous to sit on your side when they see your rear wiggling.

I mean, I’m used to stuff happening. I drove a flatbed for 2 years. It’s just stuff piling on when I’m already frustrated and in a bad mood. Anyway they got my reefer going, turns out it gelled up after the battery died, and I managed to crawl up to a spot on the side of the road next to a Petro so I at least got a cold sandwich. When I get back to Fargo tomorrow while the shop is working on the truck I’m gonna head over to Walmart and grab a microwave and a bunch of microwave meals.

You're not fighting anybody for the loads.
Some people want to go to Seattle, some people want to go to Orlando, and believe it or not, some people even want to go to Jersey.
So, where do you prefer? -
But ya got to drive the same dang road every day. Boring...
