If he could not in fact read english then the entire truck cab should be gibberish to him as Indian Sansskrit langauge. The entire world outside in our American signage should be gibberish to him. The CDL test could be gibberish as well with one big exception.
Memorizing answers on a standard 66 question multi choice test. You can just scratch off A, a b, b , c c c, D A etc all the way down. Whatever the true correct answers are. It's still gibberish but with a bootleg test it's possible. My tests in writing was by pencil and paper. Not computer and never was.

I still have manuals on my log truck, I did put auto on my trailer, but that is because it is always loaded when empty, so a pain to put air to and adjust them with it loaded up. I bet I don't have to adjust my truck slacks over once a month, running every day, and when I do get inspected, I generally get a sticker. Ican't imagine adjusting them every cuple of days, I never had to do that back when I pulled heavy haul all the time.
x1Heavy, PoleCrusher and Bud A. Thank this. -
Hauling lumber East into Denver? Lumber is heavy, guy was at the very least 75k. Of all the places to pick up lumber that would have you head east into Denver have worse/comparable grades as the final stretch into Denver.
I don't get how he was going that fast so far into the valley, maybe the truck didn't have an engine brake. Even in top gear the engine brake would slow you down more than the speed he was going by the time you made it that far.
The area that he passed the runaway ramp is quite steep. I don't think he was in the top gear then. I think he would have been going much faster. So why was h still going that fast so far Into the valley?
Really, I think you would have to try to pull that off. Georgia Overdrive?
Edit: East into Denver, not west...Last edited: Apr 29, 2019

Let’s face it these road signs are not that difficult many even have pictures. His understanding or lack of understanding of English played no role in this accident. -

I will say that I've made it safely into and out of Montreal even though I can't read French, but there weren't any mountain grades on those roads. (Funny how there aren't nearly as many signs in English in Quebec as there are French signs in effing British Columbia. But I digress.)
But if his lack of understanding of English played no role in this accident, then I have to believe that he intentionally avoided the runaway ramp -- even though he knew his brakes had failed!! That means the charges should be murder instead of manslaughter, since it means there was intent and a reasonable expectation that not taking the ramp would result in a crash later on. Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they charged him with murder, but people seem to want to make excuses for his failure.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
