Brains are optional too.
Same goes with the brain. Adds unnecessary weight on the neck.FerrissWheel, Razorwyr and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Didn't even think about that. Low brain mass to ease pressure on the neck kinda makes the mirrors obsolete lolFerrissWheel and TripleSix Thank this.

Looks like driver of tanker is already on the brakes probably trying to anticipate what the car in front of him is going to do and apparently he must have decided to stop in front of him to swerve to left like that. Just an opinion on what they call an accident.

If you watch the first video, you can hear the bulker letting his jakes work as the two black cars are coming on. He knew there was potential trouble, he just didn't count on the second car being a complete idiot.
Probably the second black car couldn't accelerate enough to get in front of the truck because the first black car was diddling around and figured he had it clear, why worry about anyone else? And the silver/gold car behind the one that ate the guard rail decided to slow down pretty late and hit his brakes pretty hard to clear the rear bumper of the bulker's trailer. So the middle guy kind of got stuck there, the bulker had nowhere to go (notice the lady in the car shooting the video says she'd "like to get over too at some point").
I think the bus is the main culprit on the highway. He shouldn't have been in the hammer lane. All the faster traffic was passing him on the right in the middle lane, which left the tanker nowhere to go. The SUV that got smashed between the bus and the truck maybe learned a lesson about passing on the right with such a high speed differential. And the car that got crunched on the ramp, well, that was bad timing and the driver should have hit his brakes or floored it but did neither.
I used to live not far from this location, and sometimes got on the freeway there. Charlotte has only gotten worse in the 5+ years since I moved away from there. Lots and lots of bad drivers, with bad driving habits from different regions. There's a lot of New Jersey and New Yorkers there, lots of Baltimore, lots of random PA people (Philly, yes, but also places like Erie and Harrisburg), lots of Detroit, and lots of Atlanta. It's a toxic blend of bad driving habits.mjd4277 Thanks this. -
