You said, “I can't understand why folks try to bypass the system as opposed to just learning how those trucks work”, and what you said needs clarification. Let’s clarify.
If Mr Fox was a professional athlete and was told that he has to perform his sport with a filtered breathing apparatus on his face and a check ball in the line, which supposedly is “good for the environment” because it limits the amount of oxygen intake. Mr Fox is of the mindset that removing the check ball from the line would allow him to breath so much easier and perform much better. Are you saying that Mr Fox needs to learn play his sport better or how to breathe through the apparatus?
What would the ESPN highlight reel look like if all athletes had to breathe through a straw?

There is a problem with an all ev fleet nation wide, oil.
we can’t stop producing it, we need it for everything from ev production to medical supplies to food production and retail related products.
with a glut of gas and diesel from a decline in usage thanks to the ev, what are we going to do with the gas and diesel? -
Maybe if it’s bad enough offensive, pay this much AND go to jail/prison just to be sure you’ve learned your lesson AND to instill fear into others, so they won’t break the same law or regulation.cke, Bean Jr., gokiddogo and 1 other person Thank this. -

When this story broke, I thought, got to be something on TTR. Big deal, fleets and O/Os been cheating for years, these guys just got caught. Remember the crimped fuel return lines? I wonder what pissed off driver tipped off the feds?
Okay, so they socked these guys with almost 2 MILLION bucks in fines. Where, in the HELL, is that going? We apparently live in a time period, where no amount of money is enough.cke and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
Lol, you woke a memory in my mind…
Around 1991 I was driving a 1988 Cabover Kenworth, 365 Cummins / 9 speed. We had some Cat powered trucks as well, but all the trucks were castrated and would only run 65 mph.
Crimping that fuel return on a old Cummins is something that will gain a little power on the uphill pull, just no extra speed. But… you have to adjust that crimp as you well know I’m sure to get the best results. I always adjusted it initially to where I could hear the idle rpm rise slightly then back it off a hair, then drive it and adjust from there.
Guy known as Underdog drove a 1 of the Pete’s with a castrated Cat.
We had been up in Johnstown, PA loading tubs for coal cars, there was 4 of us running together that day.
We were rolling down I-79 through WV when I eased around Underdog and slowly walked away from him. Needless to say he had questions.
Next oil change on the truck Tim who was a wrench and a friend still to this day, told me… Jim, I found a nice set of vice grips in the frame rail of your truck, he laughed and said sorry but I had to remove it.
Turns out that Underdog was complaining that I walked away from him with the same trailer and same weight load lol.
If the trucks had 13 spd in them the company had a 9 spd shift knob on them, keep the truck at 65 mph. Many drivers carried a 13 spd knob in their belongings, get out of town and switch the knob and roll on, things have sure changed….. -
Don't do the crime if'n you can't do the time.
