I thought all moving violations were misdemeanors, any law infraction that is not a felony is considered a misdemeanor. At least I think, of course I could be wrong as I often am.

No their infractions... I think the <15 over turned it into a misdemeanor . Not sure

That and packing a load of bikes and being a northerner...

An Infraction is an oops I messed up and the ticket is a reminder not to do it again, think of it as rear end chewing. A misdemeanor is more like a spanking, and a felony if when you get it with the belt, fly swatter, switch, or whatever else is handy at the time.

Yes my wife found that out in VA. She was blessed to have a lawyer in the family. She has a class B. The judge(female) basically told her she did the right thing being represented. It wouldn't have been good for without one:(:(

I got 20 over on the grapevine. Lawyer got it reduced to logbook violation. Don't remember if the ticket said any type though.

Many people who get stopped on the interstates in Virginia get home to find out that they were actually charged with a crime. It's called reckless driving, and it prohibits going over 80 mph or any speed 20+ over the speed limit. This is a misdemeanor offense in Virginia, which is the same level of offense as DUI.

That's either wreckless driving or exhibition of speed. Either, or, are misdemeanors.

I had 22 of them, along with the warrants for my arrest in 18 months, by the time I was 19-1/2.

If it is exhibition of speed, it will be written as such on the citation. Almost $400 a whack 30 years ago, so probably closer to $700 or $800 now, maybe even more. And you can get some county time, like 10 days as well.
