I knew it would be a matter of time before something like that happens. I want to see one of those drivers pull 45,000lb load with a HD truck. I bet someone will try it too

It's probably a power only run. I bet it's empty and somebody ordered that trailerb

Well, hopefully it's empty, but I don't see anything wrong with delivering trailers, that truck is essentially a single axle tractor, probably could even haul something light. Unless I've been out of the loop too long, I think it's a good idea.

I agree. Less weight than a 5th wheel RV and better brakes. And I love these videos complaining about stupid things others are doing and then film the driver of the car using his phone!

Looks like an excellent way to use a cheap power unit to move empties around for washouts, service, or trailer management.

You might even be able to move extremely light loads with them. Block insulation, a couple pallets of OSD, that sort of thing.

Seriously, if you can do some of your trailer management with 50k pickup trucks, that might be a few 200k tractors you don't have to buy.

HOWEVER, there are places where you don't want a power unit that light hauling empty high profile vehicles. The windy northern Midwest states. A light power unit just makes it easier to get an empty trailer flipped on it's side.

I’m just going out on a limb here, and will assume they are running cage bolts on the trailer brakes. So essentially they are running around with the perfect jackknife setup?

At the 51 second mark I can see the air lines hooked to the trailer

With these new diesels today, it probably has more guts than the 238 Louisville Ford single axle I drove, and routinely pulled loaded 48ft. trailers. Hauled 30,000 lbs of butter on backhauls all the time. Those were slow rides home, but I didn't care, getting paid by the hour.
