I’m not a city driver. I leave Monday and get home Friday every week. There isn’t any down time pulling tanks, excluding your 10 hour breaks.

Same here, but I’m in a flat. FYI, I can pull tanks anytime I want, I’m fully endorsed less motorcycle. I might of miss understand you, I hope your not trying to de-mean what he’s doing. Absolutely nothing wrong with OTR

I get a set daily pay amount plus mileage. And they add accessorial pay like tarp, stop etc.

There is a recall on some Kenworth trucks for power steering leaks. Turns out the bracket that mounts the reservoir to the frame isn't strong enough, it's weaker than it should be so that it vibrates causing it to leak.

    JoeyJunk and Winnyf1 Thank this.

Waiting on breakdown to set up a KW appointment again. Since the last shop visit, the engine hasn't sounded right...and since I've had it you can hear what sounded like and idler pulley or a belt tensioner pulley going bad, plus I have also developed what sounds like a wrist pin or piston slap up to 1500 rpm. Plus, my fuel leak is back. Starting to miss my Junkliner a little.

I thought your truck was new, did someone have it before you? Man that sucks, I mean my truck only has 69K on the clock, but thankfully the engine seems to be doing OK, no real issues beyond the power steering leak which in my case was minor.

PACCAR is so far behind its really not a surprise that some of the motors they are producing are not up to scratch, I remember my 2015 at Magnum and how much fun that was - I think two tows and three shop visits before we got through all of the issues, fortunately I was able to do some of it at home or I would have gone nuts…I know the Cummins are not as good on fuel and I respect a companies need to protect their profits, but I really hate the PACCAR motors, its just not their strong suit. Good luck and I hope the fix comes quickly!

It's a ’22, but had 50k on the clock when I got it. I am starting to think PACCAR learned engine design from International's Maxfarce division. The PACCAR I had at Magnum wasn't this unreliable other than the camshaft recall where they had to pull the motor to change a cam.

Took the truck to KW this morning. The noise under acceleration was so harsh I was wondering if they should have towed it. I set my phone on the dash and recorded it, then when I got to KW I played it for them and their eyes got wide and said that sounds bad. It sounds worse than the old ISX engines with 600k on them so I am pretty sure I will be swapping trucks. Someone just brought a newer Volvo from Wichita that's a 13 spd and was a nonsmoker truck that only needs detailed...maybe I can talk 'em into letting me have that instead

Success...at first they said the newer Volvo that other driver brought in was already assigned to someone coming in next week, but a few hours later I get a message that I am assigned to it and to head to KW and swap my stuff over. So, now I am in a '22 Volvo with a 13 speed. Gotta hand it to the folks in the office, they really are doing their best to make things work for me here...makes me a whole lot more dedicated to a company when you feel some appreciation...now I just hope that this one hangs together and I can make their effort worth while. Still loving it here even with the equipment hiccups.
