Only have one usable side box and it is overflowing. The other one is full of the Carrier APU's HVAC components.

Only place would be outside...but then it would be frozen...and I have no floorspace inside my cab either and to be honest, I don't even think a box of def would fit in the sidebox height wise...I have to finagle a jug of oil or coolant to sit it upright. These Volvos suck for storage

If you can find any in stock. Without anywhere having working pumps, they would likely be the next choice for us drivers since other places don't have big enough parking lots. I had thought of them, but I called the automotive dept of 3 and all I heard was the ringing of the telephone.

Just top off the DEF tank when approaching sub zero temps. I can get 3500 miles on a full DEF tank and I’ve never run 3500 miles of straight sub zero temps.

The Coffee Cup TA branded travel centers in South Dakota actually have a fully enclosed DEF dispenser at their pumps. Works better than Loves rubber flap cover that they use.

    gentleroger and kylefitzy Thank this.

Your def tank must be bigger than mine. I usually only manage just under 2000. I filled it in Boardman, OR just west of Hermiston went south of Portland then up to Arlington and now I am west of Sioux Falls a few miles short of 2000.

The whole def systems have been frozen, not just the individual pumps. I am at the Coffee Cup just west of Sioux Falls and their system is frozen as well...along with being out of boxed.

The question I have is why didn't you top off in Post Falls? Yeah, you had 3/4 of a tank, but you knew you were headed into "Polar Bears Are Wearing Mittens Cold", which means DEF pumps are going to be frozen. It might only be 2 or 3 gallons, but that's 400-600 miles which would likely have gotten you out of the extreme cold.

Am I the only one who has added 12 ounces of homemade def as a last resort?
