Started my day with optimism, but that faded within 15 minutes. Check engine light is on again. Unload went really good. A street unload that unloaded so fast, I didn't have time to wind my straps as fast as they were pulling stuff off. Got empty, called Rancho to see which way to head(it's quicker to call direct rather than go thru the new guy). He brought me up to the yard to swap to a regular flatbed, then I live load in the morning in Fontana headed for Kennewick, WA for Friday...so I managed to go 3 loads with a conestoga.
...so it'll probably be another 5 or 6 months before I see another.

Naw...I don't use my mirrors unless I am backing up...and I'm a flatbedder, so I rarely back up -

SPD wins...another driver called Rancho and told him that the shipper doesn't want us tarping, Rancho said his paperwork says to tarp, so we have to tarp...
I was taken off a conestoga and put on a regular flatbed, and have to pick up a load that doesn't need to be tarped (per the shipper)...then I have to tarp it anyway. And there are no blanket loads coming across the border, so they didn't have to have my conestoga (and I am sure there will be plenty of other conestoga trailers rolling thru by the time they see any blanket loads) I told my dispatcher that whenever I am assigned a SoCal load, I will develop a case of the 24 hr flu...there are nothing but ####ed up load out in this got forsaken state of confusion.
