i see a fair bit of our flatbed trucks pulling vans. Probably to keep them moving and making money. I’m assuming flat bed freight is down, at least at my company

I’ve been here almost 10 years. The east coast has always been a dead spot for us, especially if a guy doesn’t want to do oversize. Hopefully they get him something to get moving.

Mine is the same as @supersnackbar's, 2 big drawers with windows and I buy 100 at a time of paper inserts for them. As long as you are careful lifting them out, there is no cleaning up to do, and no burnt fingers. The only drawback is that, with the inserts in the windows are rendered useless, so if I want to see how it is doing I just open the drawers to look. As long as I have pressed the synch button the other drawer pauses while I'm doing so.

It is great for roasting, including hard veg like spud and carrots, parsnips etc and toast too. I have even cooked eggs in but the yokes cook quicker than the whites so are hard. Whipped up eggs cook just fine though. I don't use the inserts for that, but a small glass bowl with the bottom lined with olive oil to stop them sticking. Cleaning easy peasy. If you have the space, go for it. :)

It wouldn't be so bad if they would plan ahead. They can have a week advance notice of where and when I will be available but will still be looking for a load the day I am empty. Maybe we need a dedicated east coast salesman, or at least one who works on eastern time that way they aren't starting 3 hours behind when the loads are available 1st thing in the east coast morning. And it especially sucks when Toledo is out of the office so a driver has to wait until 10 am before anyone is even in the office. And I thought that this whole partnership with We-lie was supposed to give us access to their freight board so that we had available loads in areas we don't have regular customers so we don't sit around for days. I have been pulling double the number of broker loads lately compared to the Roadmaster group days when I started here.

according to multiple freight analysis places I follow, flatbed freight is the one bright spot as far as rates and availability in a lot of areas followed by reefer then dry van.

Samsara is soooooo wonderful. Yesterday, when I arrived at my delivery, I had to manually arrive and depart(like usual). Scanned in my paperwork at the customer like an obedient trained monkey, returned to the truckstop and sat. After a little while, I determined that I wasn't going anywhere any time soon and logged a post trip and went in sleeper status. Sometime overnight it decided to then give me the pop-up saying I had arrived at my delivery...better late than never I guess

Coming up on 11 am...26ish hours since I parked here with my hopes up. Contacted the planner for this area, she was still going thru all the emails that were sent to her while she was out. And who knows who is covering for my dispatcher today. This load was a total waste. 5+ days for a 1000 mile trip. I should have just deadheaded home from Biloxi last week and gave them the #1 sign. Now I am over 700 miles from home. This place is rapidly devolving into the worst company I have worked for, one that rivals Big G's level. It is truly a totally different company than the one I signed on with almost 2 years ago. It may as well say E.W. Wylie on the door, they couldn't do any worse!!!

My contractor bought all his road trucks the Galanz 3 in 1. I’ve been using it since January. It’s the bomb.
