Depends what's in 'em. You can be covered in flour on the one hand or up in flames after a dowsing of petrol on the other. Obviously, me being perfect etc. neither of those things happened to me. :angel5:

Strictly speaking, I never did either, but I did do cement and, you have to make sure that if it is raining not to stand ankle deep in the stuff for very long. I believe a certain Mr. Capone had a neat line in such boots as I recall. ;)

It’s very easy work. The biggest thing when it comes to tank work, is just do it the same way every time , and you’ll be fine.

To add to tanker: normally you’re only loaded half of the time, and the typical transport tanker is only 43’ long with tandems fixed at the rear.

I always enjoyed hauling dry bulk in pneumatic tanks. There was no slosh like a liquid tank trailer, not long like a 53' and easily unloaded in less than 1 hour.

My el cheapo Walmart microwave is starting to crap out. I guess that gives me an excuse to break down and buy one of those 3 in 1 microwave air fryer things for my truck

Friend, IH9300SBA and dwells40 Thank this.

I like the galanz 3 in 1 but just a warning, it’s not really an air fryer. At least it’s different then the drawer type.

My load didn't go as fast as I expected. I picked up a bunch of used equipment that a supplement maker bought when they were equipping an additional location, but realized it wasn't gonna do the job for them, so they found someone to buy it. The problem was, where they had it stored. The one piece of equipment was 2" shorter than the door and 2" narrower. My trailer, which doesn't have a dump valve was 5" taller than their pit dock, so loading it straight out of the door (up hill onto my trailer) wasn't an option. Plus, they hired a loading company to load it, and their forklift's forks were 6" too short to be able to pick the machine up, so another one of their trucks had to bring them some fork entenders. Once they got those, they squeezed it thru the door, then they went thru a smaller door, down a ramp, picked it up and took it to my trailer. But before they could load it, the sky opened up for about 90 min, then the dock flooded. There was a shorter dust collector that they loaded off the dock onto my trailer once they got the sump pump to drain some water. (the pit dock was maybe 6" wider than my conestoga.). I got a 22' chiller and a bunch of ducting and control stations (which have lexan covers, so you can't strap over the top...and one big arse turbo looking thing with a big electric motor...which sits on a steel pedestal (which was a PITA to secure because it had to sit in next to other stuff that didn't allow much of an angle to pull it down...pretty much my entire 53' trailer is full...but it took about 6 hours to get it sorted, wait out the rain storm, load it and secure it...which put me right in Tampa/St. Pete afternoon traffic. I made it from home to the shipper and back home, and that's it for me today. Oh, and it was in the upper 90's the whole time we were loading, so it made it feel like we were loading in a sauna with a huge sun lamp on.

I swear, the management of this company makes me wonder sometimes. When they dropped the daily rate plan last year and forced us daily rate drivers on to a per mile plan(which is solely performance based), and changed the flat rate performance bonus to a staggered bonus amount, they did it at the beginning of the slow times. That way the drivers go from making great money to making crap money within a 30 day period. Now, they have decided, at the beginning of the hottest part of the year, to start dinging driver's bonus money for excessive idle time starting July 1...all the while claiming they care about us drivers....total bull-####. You don't keep cutting drivers income if you care. This kind of ######## is exactly how We-lie does things...this place is a slowly becoming a Wylie mini-me. If the Boeing contract is truely on the line like some people claim, that may be the straw that breaks the camel's back and new white "W" stickers on the door won't be far behind.

As of this weeks paycheck, I have made just under $3000 less this year compared to last year, but running comparable miles. Would it be considered insubordination if I emailed the VP and say "I told you so"? (the VP who claimed I was miscalculating how much I would lose on the new per mile plan compared to the daily rate)...I am willing to bet that there isn't a member of management up in Arlington that took any kind of a pay cut, or had the air conditioning in their offices cut back to save money..or had new AI cameras installed overlooking their every move and nag...I mean coach them about how they're screwing up.

I can think of several members of management that took 100 Percent pay cuts and were not replaced.

Boeing is rebid every 2 or 3 years and has been since I worked here. We tend to lose some lanes and gain some new ones every time. Just the way it works.
