@kylefitzy, did I miss an email about a change in our benefits? From the company website, if you click on the benefits portal link, it sends you to this

Did we start using the canucks insurance provider?

I haven’t seen anything but I did ask the social media/website guy about it. I’ll let you know what he says.

SFI international is the new name for Daseke. He says the login credentials should be the same.

I used to live by a place that had lots of onions delivered to it. We could smell onions every time they had a delivery and there were always a few that spilled.

is there a reason onions can’t be hauled in a reefer or something? I tend to see haphazard tarp jobs on them, usually with the sun beating down on half the onions and otherwise exposed to the elements. I can’t imagine that’s good for them

They are primarily hauled in a reefer.

I used to haul them in a reefer. But it was not long haul, more regional delivery. Just left the inspection door open to get some air in there.

I saw them getting loaded on reefers when I was with Poly. Vent them and keep the reefer on continuous around the outside air temp. The only reason they put a tarp on top of them to start with is containment, makes it a little less likely the bags try to escape. Honestly, a mesh sand tarp would probably be acceptable instead of a steel or lumber tarp.

Now that you've asked, I can imagine an email about it will be forthcoming. I wonder if the Daseke door sticker is gonna be replaced with an SFI sticker...and I wonder if Daseke Leasing is going away too and SFI will be on our next registration. Gawd I hate being the troubled foster kid company, you never know who your parent (company) is gonna be. I guess as long as the check doesn't bounce on payday it really doesn't matter.
