That’s what I heard from safety. I agree that they absolutely should have caught the violations before an inspection did. The inspection was why they took away the adverse driving conditions exemption. That driver abused it multiple days in a row. So a few days of falsification, over the 11, over the 14, plus a few equipment violations, that could get over 150 quick. Sounds like they threw the book at him.

SSB Please check out Azure Standard. It's a private fleet that will hire from anywhere. They fly you home for your home time. There is some hand unloading but that shouldn't be a problem with your recent flatbed work. You are delivering to people who are glad to see you no warehouses. The owner said that they pay their drivers well.

I bought some canning jars from them about a month ago. They pull up in designated parking lots, with a bunch of ppl waiting for their stuff, who help unload. You've got some dry goods walled off from the frozen section. There''s a local who's coordinator for each stop. It sounds like a very fulfilling gig to me. Multiple stops full of salt of the earth ppl, anxious to get what you're bringing them..

Still, one driver royally ####s up, and we all get punished. I don't see the logic. What's next, a driver gets dinged for a securement failure, then we all have to go thru securement training? Maybe they should teach the girls in recruiting how not to hire unqualified drivers...but it's all water under the bridge for me. They can drive this company straight into the ground for all I care, as long as they wait until I am gone before they do.

Yeah, my last gig before I retired was local tanker Mon - Fri 7:00 to 5:00 every day. I went on duty when I got to my truck and stayed on duty all day. I RARELY put it on off duty. lol

No. I *think* it's because we had some OTR drivers, but I'm not sure.

I'm the same way, except the tanker part. The only time I go off-duty is when I end my shift after 14, sometimes 16, hours.
