Had to make one of the more unusual calls on the CB this morning...."Eastbound, watch yourself around the 170-171, there is a west bound cow trotting down the eastbound shoulder. 2 full growns are headed that way with their lights on to go play cowboy and pull her over"...I wonder, is roping an escaped cow part of Oregon State Trooper training?

Oh look, the weather people were wrong again...winter storm warning my ###!!!!

I looked this morning after clearing Cabbage and it was orange from N.Bend to almost Ellensburg. So I went the southern route. Looked again after clearing Portland and all the roads all the way across Washington were green again. I wish I could screw up as bad as the Weather Channel's so called meteorologists do, and still keep my job without any repercussions.

We are dumb truck drivers. We are paid to be wrong all the time. At least thats the way we are treated.

We took a Storm Watch class by the NWS. They said winter kicks their tails hands down. They know moisture is coming, but have no idea how it will reach the ground, whether in the form of rain, snow, sleet, etc. He told us if you leave work and it's snowing, and 15 miles down the road it's raining, to call them as they are diligently studying how to identify the differences using tools available to them.
