The Big Megas are short 3%. Most went to smaller Companies. Some of their O/Os went Independant. That’s a Crisis when you make Millions off taking advantage of Drivers. Good for the Drivers. All the Drivers across the Board. The Megas are pushing the shortage as usual. Basically Lobbying for more work Visas. They’ll get it as usual. God forbid the Free Market plays it’s role, and Megas are forced to play on a level field without Job Training hiring subsidies and cheap labor. Their the Scum of the Industry, far as I’m concerned.

PSR being instituted by the 4 big Railroads and their labor issues figure in as well. I am sick of hearing about a driver shortage it’s churn within the Mega’s and a lack of pay and treating drivers right.

It's the ATA's version of not letting a crisis go to waste. There's a problem with the supply chain? Let's get some free press to spread our lie about the imaginary, "driver shortage" to drum up public support for our, "solutions" that involve flooding the market with less qualified drivers so we can pay drivers less than we do now.

Just propaganda from the ATA (aka bidder for the mega fleets) done in an attempt to turn driving into a minimum wage job by getting the driving age reduced to 18.

Yes.....it is a ridiculous narrative. Using the number of truck drivers in the United States of 2.5 million........100,000 drivers means that the industry is short 0.04%?? It is BS. There is really a Driver PAY SHORTAGE!

No matter what the exact percentage is. The claim of a driver shortage is still BS. Just watch how many drivers are stranded at truck stops waiting on loads. Get those guys moving first.

If there is no shortage of drivers why are there so many jobs on Craigslist?
