Anyone know of a job where you sit and wait to get loaded abs unloaded a lot with detention pay?

I’m a regional dedicated driver, hauling loads on my company’s contract with Georgia Pacific, and I do a lot of sitting. I’m paid on salary, so I’m fine with that. I do the occasional 650+ mile day once in a while, but I also have under 2k weeks, and I do a lot of live loads/unloads.

Avg. reefer detention has got to be at least five hours.... I did around 15 hours at grocery DCs more than a few times; it's why I didn't do it long... You better not want home time more than a couple days every few months...

If money isn’t a huge concern, maybe look around locally and see who’s hiring in a daycab. I don’t know your area, but many fuel companies and others these days are offering 4 day workweeks.
