California companies that help obtain cdl

I tagged you on another thread with a similar question.
I think Gardner, that @Bakerman posted, is owned by CRST.
CRST & Swift have training, but keep shopping around. I'd rather go with Prime Inc. in Salt Lake City or Jim Palmer Trucking in Missoula,Montana.
Try FFE (Frozen Food Express) even though the website doesn't have California listed for students.
KLLM owns FFE and also has their own cdl school. Both companies run to California.
Robertson's Ready Mix has cdl training around Los Angeles. They run various types of equipment & trailers.

My only advice is that a free ride is rarely free.

 

Sygma Network - hauls for Sysco. Has a "driver trainee" program and all you need is a cdl permit. You'll run teams with one of their experienced drivers and he'll teach you to drive and help you get your cdl. This is free to you and you're also being paid because you're an employee running teams and helping the other driver at the customer locations.

 

Not sure how into School Bus driving you are.

 

If you go to Prime you will need to have your permit before you go. Folks from Cali go to Salt Lake City for their training, and they will tell you to get your permit from California before you show up. Prime trains and gives you the CDL test, all you will need to do is go to any Cali DMV Office and they will issue your license.

 

Long Beach CC has a free, awesome program. Orientation is this Friday and next Tuesday
