What exactly was the ticket for?

Shoulders are like fuel islands ..they're not for parking !
Pedigreed Bulldog, longbedGTs, tucker and 5 others Thank this. -
You have no choice but to pay it, I don't know if it is considered a safety violation but it probably is; that would mean it is a point on your record.
Breaks need to be taken off the freeway, but if you ever get interrogated again by a CHP for being on the shoulder you can tell them that you thought you saw a problem with a tire so you pulled over to make sure everything was alright, that will work if he has not driven by you several times times already before deciding to find out why you are parked beside a freeway.LoneCowboy, snowwy and driverdriver Thank this. -
Pay the fine, take the points hit on your license and never park on the freeway again. Next time you could kill someone.
tucker, dunchues, driverdriver and 1 other person Thank this. -
The state has started to crackdown on shoulder parking due to an increase in rear-enders that end up a fatality. There is a reason those white signs with black letters state "Emergency Parking Only".

Why would anyone park on the side of the freeway to take a 30 minute break?
UsualSuspect Thanks this. -
Plenty of places to semi legally park it for 30 along 40. Keilbacker (sp) Road exit is a favorite. But seriously there are tons of offramps/onramps to get off the main road if you really needed a 30 that bad and didn't want to take it in Needles or couldn't quite make it to Newberry Springs or Barstow.
UsualSuspect Thanks this. -
Does this also go for the wide shoulder on 58 east of the pilot before you get to Barstow

Y'all ain't seen nothing yet...once the elogs mandate kicks it, y'all will find out just how stooopid some of these truckers are.
FYI...I'm not dissing truckers, but the typical driver is usually not from a smart subset population
