I am moving out to the truck tomorrow and boarding Thursday....I suspect they will deadhead me out unless there is a load ready to go.

Junior and his mom are heading out tomorrow night for Jax. If the storm turns towards Jax, they will head to Knoxville...I expect flooding, but the wind will kill in this storm. I hope people pay attention to evacuation orders and have their hurricane parties elsewhere.

Well from what they we're saying its seems as if it will hit Southern Florida. Rick Scott has already issued evacuations. Its uncertain if it will hit Alabama or go towards the Carolina's. Far as I'm concerned with my home state. It's a 2/3rds chance South/Middle Georgia may get impacted. So I'll be sharply keeping an eye out on this myself. I've already issued planes for evacuation if necessary. You guys be safe out there.

Yes, Florida no bueno- I'm headed to Nogales!

So yesterday, I'm delivering a load in Lebanon TN, tight entrance & no room for me as trucks are lined up in skinny driveway, so I wait my turn on street. Here comes a truck from a major carrier, (no not Swift), who cuts around me & attempts to turn, but oops it's too tight, and he nearly loses the trailer in ditch and hits their sign completely leveling it..oof! Police called, lookyloos, company big man, pictures, etc. But WAIT there's MORE! Fast forward & I'm now in the driveway behind him and it's his turn to enter dock area.....(tight one truck one dock thing), he opens his doors and ....(wait for it), he proceeds to bash into a large commercial dumpster catching the end of trailer, ripping off his door, (it FLEW off!), AFTER he had run both tandem sets on the dumpster lift hook, flattening four tires. Watched it happen live! I couldn't believe it-jaw dropped! This guy had a BAD day.

Got pre-planned for a scrap cardboard load delivering in Fernandina Beach tomorrow... shouldn't be too hard getting onto that island... all the traffic will be evacuating...puts me in a pretty good position If I need to head for cover.

You are right, cool place. It occurs to me that by the time I get there this evening, if they are in mandatory evacuation mode, I won't even be able to get onto the island... If that's the case, I'll drop this thing in Jacksonville and head for the Hills.

I was never very fond of Nogales, but I could go for some dry heat right about now. I hear they're erecting a new sign at the city limit it says, "bienvenido La gringa Loca".

    Keeker, can you translate that?

    TO ALL CFI DRIVERS,
I wish everyone of you stay safe these next few days if you are in Florida or along the eastern coastline. This one is BIG and worse than Charlie or Matthew were. I live in Ocala, Fl. and am going to ride it out at my son's house in Dunnellon. He is a former "Truckload" driver and I am a retired driver from ConWay Freight. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Navypoppop
