So I'm having my lunch in a rest area in Indiana... Two black minivans pull up and a whole bunch of Amish people pile out of both of them... I think to myself, what's with the minivan snow horses and buggies? And then just to drive this old rooster a little bit crazier one of them is talking on a cell phone... Weird Al Yankovic would have a field day with that one

I called it...Lowe's down to KC area, then the KC yard to new Columbia, PA...1500 miles stacked on me for the weekend... no complaints.

I talked one of the Amish women into giving me a wake up call at 1:30 tomorrow morning... figured she'd be up any way doing some kind of chores...

Yikes!!! 1:30.. that's even early by Rooster standards.

I'll be home for Thanksgiving Christmas and New years. I'm a Owner Op I can do that lol. But I'll try to find something in between Christmas and New years.

Guess we'll both find out if it pays to work Christmas. We can have Christmas dinner in different truck stops together!

Never working over Christmas. It was bad enough getting home Thanksgiving day last year. Don't plan on that happening again either.

Now one thing that gets me is how every year more business and people work on Christmas day. I find it really sad that its like that. When I was growing up Christmas was more about than just sharing gifts. It was also about connecting with family, and love ones. Litterally everything including Mcdonalds and Walmart was shut down for 24 hrs. Its not like that anymore which sucks.

Well, my 1000 my Pennsylvania load is still a thousand miles away from me. It team-driven, so it wouldn't get here till tomorrow afternoon sometime. My manager happens to be working today... Load unasigned,...

He put me on a load that's going to be in here at about 3 in the morning, by the way here is the KC yard, going to Portland Oregon with Hazmat pay...

Once again, I stepped into a pile of poop and came out smelling like a rose.

I didn't have the heart to tell him that I won't be working any Northern routes across the Rockies until May... I'll take this one for the team

Got to eat some dinner and hit the rack.
