Booked out till monday with a load heading to Lexington KY saturday. Then a load heading to Wooster OH which is south of Akron. The freight is looking so good right now. I may never go home hahaha.RoadRooster Thanks this. -
All the owner operators claim that this is the time of the year when they just rest until April cuz there's no Freight... You just keep running that "no freight" that they don't pick up!Cw5110 Thanks this. -
Another day in the annals of the world's most respected trucker...
Background: in the old days we had a special key, looks like a key for a soda machine, that was an anti-theft device. The device lock the brakes up if the key wasn't in.
One day I unloaded my truck I had left the padlock on the dot bumper when I was empty I left forgot about the padlock.
I realized it somewhere down the road and back tracks and I see my locks in the middle of an intersection I pulled over and retrieved it.
After that I started keeping the padlock key on the same key ring as the anti-theft key that way I could never forget my.
The new trucks have this anti-theft system that doesn't use the key what an electrical lockout. Not even thinking I put my padlock key on the same key ring is the electrical lockout.
This morning I unlock the padlock put it on the dot bumper got unloaded and proceeded to leave I've never shut the engine off so the electrical lockout was already bypassed because the engine was running.
I drove around corners and over bumps and I'm somewhere in the middle of Springdale Arkansas. I noticed the empty pin cushion on my Dash and realized I left my padlock with the anti-theft device on the DOT bumper. I was sure I lost it so I backtracked back to the customer and never found it.
I called Joplin and they dispatched me straight to Joplin to get a new Anti-Theft. That also meant $50 for a new padlock.
I'm in the inspection by and tell them I can't turn the motor off because I lost a little key fob.
They get the numbers off of the pin cushion and are going to get me a new one. In the meantime one of the guys inspecting the truck comes around the back with my padlock in the key fob and everything intact.
About 80 miles with that thing riding on the dot bumper... There's no explanation except even the air ride system tries to make my ride smoother for me.
Jopmo for the night getting a couple of little things taken care of.Last edited: Jan 25, 2018
