Not really. Generally new drivers get NE regional runs for the most part for the first month or two, to show they can get the job done in the most annoying driver-unfriendly part of the US.

After your first few months do.you ever get 1000 miles plus runs all over the lower 48 or just short hops..how are the trucks there, junky bare bones? Keep hearing mixed reviews on Crete, they called me last week saying they upped their cpm but I am wondering if that's offset by short runs.in one area dealing with shippers and receivers all the time.

I am now on a dedicated account, so I cannot speak to current OTR mileage.

However I only transitioned about 3 months ago. As a Shaffer driver, I got a lot of 1000+ mile loads. I normally got at least 1 x 2000+ mile load every month.

The trucks are not rolling condos, but they are not old junk either. The average age of the trucks is no more than a few years old. Rarely does a truck rack 500k miles before being sold. They have opti idle instead of APUs.

I just finished my fifth month on Crete side. Averaging 2800/wk being home every 4th then 5th week alternatively. Home on time every time. Truck pulls well. Trouble in month 2 but all's well now. Lots of 500 mile runs occasional 250 and 1200. I try and maintain a 500/day average. That way not killing myself and still earning. I take resets as I have wife as non driving teammate. We get to local attractions on days off. It's a good like here.

Thanks for the info..are you pretty much traveling all.over, out.west etc, or do you stay in a regiionalish area. The company I was with, we did a lot of long runs out there, my favorite place to drive. Stayed out about a month at a time..my wife rides with me also..

A lot of Southeast lately. Asked to go out West and they sent me. Took them 10 days, but it happened. Out and back though as I had hometime scheduled.
