CVSA road check stats this year. Many drivers stayed home.

I think this is the answer, I worked those days as well, rolled through 3 different scales where they were actively inspecting and just got eyeballed. The one thing we're always told, don't look like a violation and you probably aren't a violation.

 

Fine money didn't tally with former shakedowns. Number citations issued, number of actual inspections? No, the bottom line still announces or disclaims success...

 

Maybe cause rates are so bad its not even worth starting truck. Been home for month now, don't want to pay brokers to move their ####

 

The only reason they advertise this crap is so the motoring public will feel safer out here. Has nothing to do with what they really are up to. They just want to look good, see we're doing our job keeping you safe. Your tax dollars at work.
If they really wanted to catch you, they'd be out in full force and wouldn't advertise anything and they'd sneak in the back door. But then who would know and pat them on the back.

 

Fake news… reason they stayed home? no decent paying freight. I worked.through it. but never got stopped. even seen several closed scales during that time.
