That's true, it doesn't. I was thinking of when u do a pre-hire exam with a new employer. They make u do the pee in a cup plus the DOT.

Exactly. I just got a dot exam done not long ago, yet it doesn't get automatically sent to the state to update. They still do the old fashioned way saying my exam is coming up to being expired and to send them a copy of my new one. The fed systems must not communicate with the state ones.

The systems probably do communicate with each other. I'm sure we could find some examples.
The only reason the records are not uploaded and updated automatically is that someone(s) is either stupid or lazy.

Medical records, DMV records are all available to all concerned.
There is no logical reason why the documents in question, that have already been filled out, could not be sent to the interested parties.

Uhh ... Need to go to the right examiner and I guess be licensed in the right state. Mine uploads my exam to the DMV gets an immediate email back with a case number. Forwards the email to me. Check the DMV website the next to confirm the exam has been reviewed and accepted.

To the OP, you have a bureaucratic mess to untangle.

But once that's done get a letter from your cardiologist stating that he considers you safe to operate a commercial vehicle. Give that to your examiner and they will add that as an attachment to your exam.

Back when it started [early 90's] everyone was tested at their physical until the DOT concocted the current setup.

I think some guys may think the urine sample for the sugar test is a drug screen, it is not.

By reading #### on this site. Why just look at the crap in this one topic. Good grief who cares you didnt list a broke finger on your dot physical. If they cared about “safety” then they would do something about the ones that cant drive. This stupid dot physical is a joke.

Passing a DOT physical has gotten more difficult over time. It has little or nothing to do with safety.

    1. A couple of high profile cases where a motor coach driver had a medical emergency and crashed riles the public "DO SOMETHING"

    2. The ATA and it's members are perfectly ok with a system to eliminate older more experienced (and expensive in terms of actual pay and health care benefits) with younger (less pay) drivers. Their bean counters figured out the gross savings in payroll is greater than the cost of accidents younger less experienced drivers may cause.

    3. Big Pharma/medical devices industries never miss a chance to increase the marketing of their products. Specifically blood pressure, cholesterol, and various sleep apnea regimens yield huge profits on the largest single employment classification in the country.

    4. The insurance industry, relying on bad actuarial numbers are on board with the concept. Large carriers are self insured, if their younger drivers kill more people, the insurance biz doesn't care, they are not on the hook for the claims.

The number of accidents caused by a class 8 driver having a medical emergency do not justify the increased regulation.

Don't complain to me about your supply chain problems and lack of drivers.
    It stinks.

Have you considered getting Mr. Big going again? I’m pretty sure Kenny Aronoff can fill in on drums.
