Are their any companies that will hire you and send you straight to school? I don’t mind working the dock or anything but the last LTL company I worked the dock for was a nightmare and honestly I would rather not do it.. what are my options? All answers are helpful

Go see ODFL - they have a program - we used to work for them. Great company.

I’m from the Lou. What LTL company did you work at before if you don’t mind my asking? Estes in Fenton has a dock to driver program, but I think it’ll be pretty heavy on the dock work side of things. OD in St. Charles does as well. There’s a company called Express 2000 in Bridgeton, they won’t have the pay and the benefits the Big 6 have but they might be able to work with you. They have guys that swing freight in the afternoon and then go and do a drop and hook in Columbia MO at one of their customers out there.

I worked for estes... it’s not a bad company I just didn’t like the way I was being trained it honestly felt unsafe.. and it didn’t help I had a trainee who just yelled and never actually explained anything to meTexas_hwy_287 and motocross25 Thank this.

Lol dude Estes is where I worked at. I totally get it. Trust me. I would maybe scope out Express 2000. Or there’s like SuperVan off Broadway downtown I THINK Bremen is the side street. It’s like right across from the old Middendorf Meat which is now Performance Food Group. Or there’s Central Transport. Idk how they are as a company to work for, used to their equipment was roached out but I see they have newer tractors at least and if they are really paying what they are advertising, that’s nothing to shake a stick out. Just outta my own nosy curiousity, as a fellow St. Louiser you know I gotta ask, where do you live at? I was in Fenton.

It’s crazy you mention downtown I live like 5 minutes from where you just mentionedmotocross25 Thanks this.

Oh ok great. There’s also CRH Transportation they are down in Soulard somewhere. Littler companies like them and Express 2000 are more apt to work with you and have more time to let you do a few deliveries. They tend to have less rules and don’t have 5 bosses breathing down their necks. Dugan also might be somewhere to check out. I think they’re on Hall Street down the old Truckers Row.
