Your DEF level sensor is shot. It will go out again shortly. IF your truck is under warranty you will be done truckin indefinitely. My company has four 2020’s that have been parked for three months. There are NO sensors available and PACCAR will not allow a non OEM aftermarket sensor on the truck. It will VOID the warranty.
It’s a colossal ‘effin mess and I’m just lucky my company had a somewhat new spare truck available for me to use.
Ever get derated to 5 mph because of no DEF when your def tank is full?

I'm sure there's a technician out there somewhere that'll know how to bypass that stuff by applying the 5vdc or whatever signal required to tell the system that there is plenty of def in the truck. No way I'd be waiting that long to get a brand new truck back.
-
But....that would be illegal!
-
Rush Truck Center won’t do that. They did come up with some kind of “solution” that lasted about 80 miles. I’d be lawyering up myself. There would be aftermarket sensors going in them until the OEM’s are available with NO negative effect on the warranty.

Probably that def quality sensor. I’m hearing from drivers and mechanics that it goes bad usually because we over fill the def tank. Pump until the first click and stop don’t add until you see liquid coming back up.
Dna Mach Thanks this. -
But what do you do if your tank is empty and you start the pump and it clicks right away and you’ve only pumped 1/4 gallon?? We’ve all been there.
-
I can’t stand that. Sometimes you have to find that sweet spot in the nozzle trigger. If it’s quiet you can hear the fluid topping off but usually it isn’t and you have no idea you’re topped until you see it.
I hate DEF! We rarely broke down back in the pre def days. I’d never been on a tow truck until DEF BS put me on one. I’ve ridden the hook about 10 times in the last decade. This is the first time I’ve ever broke down indefinitely though with no idea when the part will arrive.Roberts450 Thanks this. -
But, but….
Karen might see a puff of black smoke and get offended. God knows we wouldn’t want that.
Roberts450 and Dna Mach Thank this. -
If you unplug the speed sensor, plug a new one into the scoket and let it hang away from the sensor ring , you should be good to go
Did for my 2014 Coronado 122sd. DD 15
How ever it will not register, Drive on your ELD
And your speedometer will not work
Puts you on duty only does not keep travt of your
miles
I always carried a spare only cost about &40
The 1 box outlet sensor was bad cost about $475
MYHM could tell ya that if he hadnt hot banned
He did way more good here than any body and
Knew that stuff better than most , i just plugged
In the new outlet sensor and let it hang in the clean
Air left the old one inLast edited: Aug 26, 2021

So.
Your company representative thinks you screwed it up?
I’d want an apology and $2500 for blaming me for something I didn’t do.
Then I’d be looking for a new company.
