wow, ok, it has been decades, like when the company Munson had like a drop yard there. along with Schnieder and JB Hunt. at least, that's the way it looked with all those company trailers parked.

I deliver a lot of caustic to the pulp mill and power plant up there. Won't have to worry about going up there for awhile now.
Bud A., lovesthedrive and mjd4277 Thank this. -
Well it looks like they’re going to be doing a little bit of remodeling...
Glad to hear everyone is okay...
For a minute there I thought someone had messed around with the Pilot/Flying J 2 for $5 pizza!!!
Unless you have a cast iron digestive system fooling around with that has explosive consequences-in more ways than one!!
“Geez Bob,did you have to eat the pepperoni one??”Northern Nomad and lovesthedrive Thank this. -
With the state of Maine now removing the ability of plastic bags in shopping stores (state thing against plastic). You can bet they will be repaired and up and running again.
Yup that was one heck of a lucky video shot. Dash cams to the rescue. Granted that plant might be shut down for 6 months. Yet we are coming out of winter. So the rebuild will be easier. Guessing our Governor will be easing the shutdown on Troy Industrial (Steel Supplier)Bud A. Thanks this. -
They better get the steel heat going then. Takes a battle over days to get a good heat built.
That plant looks a little dirty almost as if a couple wipes and a flush will clear that out. -
Originally I was supposed to deliver sulfuric to the pulp mill, then it canceled. Then it got changed to sulfuric to waste water, and now I get into work and read that we have suspended all deliveries there until further notice. We go to the power plant too, glad we weren’t there when this happened!

There's a line from National Lampoon's Vacation that comes to mind. Randy Quaid says it.
I can't print it because the mods will get me, but the second word is,,, "full!"86scotty, Roberts450, lovesthedrive and 1 other person Thank this. -
My least favorite places to go when I was pulling a tank were paper mills. They stink like some giant licked a big wad of brown napkins from Arby's and stuck it under your nose. Also, most of them had no kind of safety consciousness from what I could tell, kind of the opposite end of the spectrum from Dow Chemical / Rohm & Haas checking your temperature with a rectal thermometer before you could enter the plant -- and that was a year before the coronavirus.
HoneyBadger67 and allniter Thank this. -
Oh wow, I used to pick up paper products from there when I was doing Proctor and Gamble for Schneider. I loved those old paper mills up in Maine. The smell was awful, but there was just something romantic about the whole thing.
