Delivered at Costco in Sumner, WA which was pretty quick but in every other way a profoundly unpleasant experience. Pretty sure everyone there had “Rawhide” playing on repeat in their earbuds.
Anyhow I emerged unscathed other than oddly shaped burn pattern on my bum.
I wound up having to pay for parking to wait for a load to drop. It’s being reimbursed but it rankles me to pay $15 for a couple hours of parking.
So I ran over to Yakima. Washington, which according to the sign is “The Palm Springs of Washington” and picked up a load going to Mansfield, TX. GPS wants me to take 82 to 84 to 80 to 25 to 70 to 35. Which seems easy enough except…. There are supposed to be high winds across most of Wyoming on 80 tomorrow so I am going to do some creative rerouting. I’m not super light but it looks like it could wind up being shut down for all high profile vehicles. If I can keep it moving I should be able to get down in the vicinity Saturday evening and then get a reset before delivering on Monday. Having to sit for a day in Wyoming would blow that plan out of the water.

Google says the best route is down thru Provo then thru the woods to Green River, UT, then down thru Moab down to Gallup to Amarillo and 287 to 35

The two routes are similar distance wise. I take the former route because, besides for the section of 287 from Limon to Stratford, it’s all 4 lane. Plus you’re a lot closer to services if you require them. A lot of the four corners area is no man’s land, at least in terms of truck services. However I took that route when it wasn’t winter, so it’s honestly your call. Running 15/6/191 in Utah and beyond is a lot more scenic, and you’d avoid Wyoming entirely.

PFJ app said there was apparently unusual activity and it wouldn’t complete the deal, but when I swiped fuel card and rewards card at the pump, it worked just fine. Wonder what’s going on
