They are going to be waiting a long long time for the market to come up and with the freight market where it is there is NO market for those old junk trailers.

Think of it this way...if you're pulling a kid in a wagon thru dirt or sand, if they sit in the back, the back tires sink deeper, same if they sit in the front...but if they're in the middle, then all the tires sink the same. The only difference I would think, if it's heavier on the truck tandems, the computer thinks it's a heavy load based on the air pressure needed to fill the bags...and it adjusts it's power and shifting accordingly (on the autos). The Mack I had at Moore would pull a 44k lb load almost as good as a 24k lb load, but would drop more than I liked pulling an empty trailer and it was an mDrive 12 speed.

I've been out of the game for a while now but when I was driving I found that my truck would pull better with heavy drives vs heavy trl tandems. This was with a manual, I never drove an auto, ymmv.

Never stop asking questions. I always learn something from every answer. Either affirmation of what I already know, a good reminder for myself, or more information or different view than I’ve heard before.

    I still ask noob questions.

Prices are way lower now so yes technically speaking it's a good time to buy $40-50k for a truck a few months from now could be $30-45k for a used one. Prices are crashing. Freight is also crashing in certain markets I wouldn't buy anything right now unless you have cash. Leasing a newer truck at fcc wouldn't be bad if the values fall down.
