Flex tape is mighty expensive for a temporary fix...duct tape will last long enough to get it back to the shop, and Walmart sells it in a wide variety of colors to match any truck

Fremont weigh station was open tonight got inspected passed and now am at the yard. Check engine light was on this morning, but now it's back off again. Scr 1 efficiency code. I'll ask Travis in the morning if he recommends me have it checked since this is the second time it came on and off but might just be from idling or the cold.

Man... I cry happy tears every time I see that big pile of brisket, ribs, ham, and whatever else they decided to do that day. that was THE BEST PART of doing one of those CA to Houston furniture runs.

Most Cascadia’s I’ve had would throw up a check engine light for a couple days and then go away. If the truck ran fine I just ignored it. They’re called dummy lights for a reason. I had a car where the CEL light was on because of some emissions code. Michigan doesn’t do emissions testing and it ran perfectly fine, so I just put some tape over it and carried on my merry way.

Most emissions Macks that I have driven were the same way. The last one I drove finally started acting up so I took it to the dealer. The tech said there were over 8000 faults from one sensor...he asked why I didn't get it to a shop when the yellow engine light came on. I told him that if I stopped every time it came on, I would only be able to drive from one dealer to another. It was on so often that I referred to it as my amber night light. He didn't like it when I mentioned that most of us consider that light to be an indication that the engine hadn't fallen out yet...after all, it was a Mack.

Sitting here at the T/A in New Jersey tonight, have to deliver in Lindenhurst, Ny tomorrow on Long island, then headed upto Connecticut to pick up load going back to Omaha for Monday. Had a nice week lastweek with almost 3600 miles. Im sure loving all these miles.

I recall Travis saying once that the Freightliners would show that light when it didn’t finish a regen, then it would go away the next full one out on the road…
