I got all my stops off without major issues. Was given another load but was pulled off that one due to my hours. Ended up grabbing a preload from Waller, TX to Eagan, MN to take home. If it weren’t for my windshield I’d be leaving out Monday morning to deliver it Tuesday morning up in Minnesota, but I may have to drop this in a yard somewhere. I’m not sure if it’ll be a quick fix or if the whole thing will need to be replaced again, which that would take another 6+ hours of sitting around while my truck is in the shop. I’m just thankful that it’s been pretty reliable considering it’s a PACCAR product with their motor. I haven’t even had many electrical gremlins with this truck.

In the meantime, I have 516 miles to drive tomorrow to make it back to town with 10.5 hours left on my 70.

Story time about a radio rambo

Passed a tanker truck in Greensburg a few days ago because they were going like 5-10 under in town. I get out of town and she starts rambling on the CB about how I’m only going as fast as she is and that I didn’t have the balls to pass her in the passing lane before town, and some other bs.

I passed you in town because A. You were doing like 33 in a 40, and B. I have no patience for other drivers that constantly go between 64-68 and thinking they need to slow down for every little curve in the road, and C. My truck does like 68 3/4 on a good day so I couldn’t pass you in one of those passing lanes.

All in all I really didn’t take this seriously and thought it was pretty funny when she rambled on the CB but absolutely no one responded to her.

It also reminded me why I prefer taking 56 over 54 in Kansas

    This might stir the pot………

Or go back home and bake a cake. This phrase is only used when warranted. Not a true reflection of this driver.

The ones that CONSISTENTLY give me heart burn are the drivers from Jett trucking.... every time I run across KS, I have one of them pass me immediately before the intersection of KS156 and US56. I had one drive onto the shoulder and turn inside of me at that spot. They also have a bad habit of changing lanes in the middle of a turn. And then there is CHEEMA.... every single time I come into CA on either I-10 or I-40, one of their drivers can't resist just being an obnoxious waste of diesel.

Taking a reset in Fremont, today there doing the laying of the wreaths at the local veterans cemetery, we as a company participate in the Wreath’s across America every year. So I’m looking forward to doing that this morning, as a Veteran I’m sure it will be a humbling experience.

I will roll out tonight about midnight headed down to Four Oaks for Monday afternoon. With a fresh clock a could theoretically run something back up to KCMO drop, and still get home on my requested home time.

I don’t think I would want to run this hard week in and week out though. I was pretty tired after getting back home. 3,000 miles a week is still plenty enough to get the bills paid without wearing myself out in the process. I’d probably feel burnout fairly quickly if I drove this much all the time.
