I think it is 6 one way and 1/2 a dozen the other way.

To be fair, the roads in northern Michigan and the UP are in a lot better shape

Not sure. I run a triangle from Midland, MI to Burton, MI to Sarnia, ON and that’s pretty much it.

Omaha, broker load. Poor ######## had to unload it with a hand jack.

Could be worse, at least they had a dock. Unloaded on the South Side in Chicago one time back in my Schneider days where one guy used a pallet jack to move pallets to the rear and another guy who grabbed them with a forklift to get them on the ground.

I had a load of super sacks full of PVC powder on pallets like that. 2 Hispanic guys that were maybe 5'5" tall came out with a fork lift and a manual pallet jack, 1 in the trailer the other in the middle of a city street. The local LEO's give them 20 minutes to get the truck moving or they get fined...and I was leaving with time to spare. Needless to say, if anyone wanted to start something physical with them...I was on their side. Those guys were hard core bad ##### when it came to getting the job done. When I first saw it was only 2 guys, I offered to help, but they wouldn't let me in my own company trailer...once I saw how fast they were, I would have been in the way...I just stood there beside the trailer watching for traffic trying to squeeze thru.

So I am on a long load to four oaks for Tuesday got to get the trailer serviced since it is way over due and the landing gear is crackling and popping cranking it up. Maybe I can get down there Monday in time to see fireworks.

The guys I feel for are the ones manually loading and unloading the loads of tires. Hand stacked from floor to ceiling. Every inch of the trailer used.

… but at least they do roll
