No sence in pre treating when the storm will start as rain and wash all of it away .

 

That’s the thing…there’s no rain in the forecast for the whole Omaha region, only snow. It’s not warm enough here for it to fall as rain anyways.

 

Perhaps you should check the pavement temp and if that doesn't work for ya the Nebraska dept of roads is always looking for help and should apply!

 

Perhaps you should be a weather prognosticator since you seem to know more than the people predicting weather

That's the pot calling the kettle black. You did the exact same thing to him as I did to you...sounds to me like he did the right thing and checked the forecast when an impending storm is approaching...looks like what he posted is what is predicted. 5-8 in of snow with 35 mph winds is the kind of weather that covers the roads, so checking the road surface temps wouldn't be of much use.

 

When it comes to treating the roads Nebraska knows what they are doing. It's just snow right now not cold enough to treat it'll just wash away with the slush.

 

I used to work for Nebraska dot and wasting material was highly frowned upon.

 

That crap isn’t cheap either with the amount they buy..taxpayers are flipping the bill so it’s good they look out for the cost..
