Called breakdown and they want me back ASAP. Going to be sitting here in Sidney, NE until another driver brings me another load tomorrow. Was gonna call Mike and complain but he won’t be in until Thursday.

This week has gone in the ####ter

If it's not something they can adjust, it'll have to go to Peterbilt and it under warranty. You might get a new truck at point.

According to some of your co-workers that have a masters degree in mechanical engineering. Those automatic transmissions are 100% troublemaker free.
That grinding noise and that burnt smell are just figments of your imagination Chris.
Just keeping driving till it sound’s expensive

If that happened at one of my previous employers, they would try to figure out what I did to make it break down.

That was the problem with the cabovers at Schneider is guys would abuse them so they could get moved out to a conventional. I'm not a fan of Internationals but I think those trucks got a bad rap after having a succession of new guys doing new guy stuff as well as deliberately trying to break them, it's no wonder they were basket cases. I was a little sad to see mine go but the constant breakdowns and the rather daunting list of stuff that was a worn out on the truck that was deemed not cost effective to repair since it was due for trade (It was 7 years old and had 750k on it) kept me from doing anything stupid like trying to buy it.
I'm glad to be here. Even our 'tired' stuff is much better taken care of. Some shop time is in my near future, the scheduling still has to be hammered out but my truck is going to have spend some quality time at Interstate Power in the next couple weeks to get a couple of gaskets replaced.

    dwells40 and RStewart Thank this.

My first truck at Schneider was a 2017 Cascadia with 710k on it. That thing was a complete pos

I talked to Glenn in breakdown about the various issues this truck has had since it got about 450-460k on it, and he was like “yeah those Peterbilts tend to start having a bunch of problems once they get to that mileage”

If they know that then why do they keep them past said mileage? Regardless of if i had this transmission problem (if it even is the tranny), i still have minor problems. That window switch they replaced still doesn’t work properly, the intermittent settings on the wipers need encouragement to work most of the time, i have an interior light that likes to randomly come on, and my god is that low coolant sensor a touchy SOB. PACCAR products just aren’t built that well in my experience. There’s a reason why I specifically asked for a Freightliner at my last company who predominantly operates the 579, and probably why FCC operates so few of them.
