Got married and then had to get a surgery done Monday. Had an infection I guess for almost a year and didn't know about it until recently it got worse it started out as a hemorrhoid.

Well yee haw.
Been an interesting couple of days.
Got a text Monday from someone higher up in the food chain at my old job asking me again to come back. I miss the guys and sleeping in the same place every day has its attractions. Also I miss being able to be more than just a driver and trying in some small way to make things better for my guys. It’s nice to be able to do some good.
But with some distance I think I have more of a handle on how bad that job was for my physical and mental health. It’s great to be the hero and catch the dropped balls but every day there are new balls dropped and they knock a couple you picked up yesterday off the table. I keep in touch with one of my guys and he says it’s more screwed up now than it’s ever been.
I gave it a couple days thought, I owe them that much, but I just think it’s probably best to leave them in the past. Made great money and stretched and grew in some ways but to quote from despair.com “Winners never quit. Quitters never win. But if you never win and you never quit, you’re an idiot.”
So anyhow they had me pick up a preloaded trailer in Shell Rock to shlepp over to Valley. It had an ABS light on so I called Eric to see if he wanted to fix it before I dropped it or to try to get it after. Since it was a bit over a month out from its next service he wanted to get it before I dropped it. So had to detour via Fremont and get that fixed (they also PMd the truck) then dropped it off on my way over.
The truck apparently needs a flywheel seal as well as the oil pan gasket so it’s projected to be down till noon Friday. They offered a loaner, the problem is I am out of hours until late Thursday anyhow so switching trucks may not be worth it. Current plan is to get a hotel until Friday morning then if there is a SNAFU and the ETA slips to move over to a loaner truck.MidWest_MacDaddy, dwells40, Knucklehead and 6 others Thank this. -
