On the ABS light thing it’s kind of a culture shock that Fremont fixes them, at the places I’ve worked previously the ABS light might get looked at when the trailer was in the shop for some other reason.

ABS light being up until a couple years year was not an item that got csa points so that’s why they let them go then.

where does Western Express hire their drivers from? There was some wreck on I-40 (again) this morning and some traffic was diverting down US 66 since it runs parallel in that area. Not rocket science. Being the courteous midwesterner that i am, i let him go ahead of me and realized that was a bad mistake. He seemed completely clueless. Never really going over 45 in a 55, almost stopping for a turn that wasn’t there, and then completely stopped at the entrance to the on ramp to get back onto the highway for no obvious reason

It’s almost as if having to drive a few miles on a two lane rural road was a traumatizing experience

Some people don’t function well unless they have a GPS telling them exactly where to go.

The place I picked up in Ohio Tuesday had a waiting lot down the street and the shipping department was on the opposite side of the building from the guard shack where you check in. They gave you a piece of paper with directions on how to get to the parking lot and shipping department. The guy in front of me wanted an address to put in his GPS and the directions were literally how to get to the opposite side of the building.

The guard had to tell him twice that he was at the address and the directions were to shipping on the other side of the building. And he very much understood English so that wasn’t the issue.

Well boys I’m at home. When asked earlier if I wanted off for Labor Day I responded back with an emphatic “yep!” As I did and do not wish to relive my experience working over July 4th. After I dropped and swapped at Overhead Door in St. Louis last night I went to Sullivan and swapped my empty for a Menards store delivery in KC about 10 miles from the yard. Unloaded that about 1 pm and was told that’s it have a good weekend. I politely said I could do something until Friday afternoon whether it be another St. Louis turn or a CB shuttle. Apparently there is nothing. Here’s to hoping next week is better.

At JBS one time in Ottumwa IA you literally check in, turn around and RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU across the street you drop your trailer for them to wash and wait to get loaded. One guy took off thru the plant and before they could stop him he got all ****** up and down some narrow corridor where they keep their cooling units. They had to get a car to go find him and escort him out. Lol I’m with you I dunno how these guys make it across country when they literally can’t make it across the street.
