Anyone going northbound on I-29 toward Omaha better find an alternate route or be prepared to wait. Just passed an extremely ugly wreck near the IA/MO border. Whole northbound side is closed and will be for most of the day i suspect. Car was burned to a crisp, another one almost unrecognizable on its roof, semi in the median. Ambulances, fire trucks, and police cars galore. There was also a helicopter that landed on the highway loading someone on a stretcher who’s getting life flighted to Omaha.
It’s a very bad and ugly situation. Avoid if at all possible

Article about the crash
Authorities investigate fatal crash near Iowa-Missouri border
“Investigators say a 29-year-old driver from Bellevue, Nebraska, was driving south in the northbound lanes of Interstate 29 when he slammed into a 2013 Ford Focus, then ran into a bridge abutment. Authorities said the driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at a local hospital. A 1-year-old in the car was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said the driver of the Ford Focus went off the road after being hit and rolled over, throwing an 18-year-old woman out of the car. She later died at the hospital. The driver, an 18-year-old male, also died at the hospital. Another passenger survived with serious injuries. All three were from Kearney, Missouri.
Authorities say two other vehicles got into an accident as they swerved to avoid the crash and hit each other. One person was taken to the hospital with injuries.”

Sitting in Cali poised to deliver tomorrow morning in Riverside. Got my preplan, Costa Mesa to Deshler. I sent my dispatcher in a message regarding my truck being due for service when i get back to the mothership. Load delivers Thursday or Friday. I’ll aim for Thursday if SoCal is kind tomorrow.
