This month has been interesting from day one.
Capped off with this last week of drop in SAV Monday morning followed with a five hour reload then a couple days babysitting that load. Was allowed to take it in a day “early” but then headed to Romeoville IL to shuttle MTs around only to then find out the Shipper had no clue about my load. Night Shift there couldn’t find it. BT to Culver’s for a meal and shut down on shippers yard, thankfully. Next morning the day shift clerk looked it up and said “oh, it’s at the other site.” … Ugh, seriously??? I guess it was ready for two days but the guy at night couldn’t find it.
Rolled to CB for Shop Visit (and do laundry) then Saturday drop at Sysco and then Kawasaki in Lincoln with a nice run back to SAV for Monday morning… should then get back just in time for Thanksgiving.
but…
When I turned in to Kawasaki something felt wrong and then sounded wrong. Hooked to the trailer but then saw what turned out to be power steering fluid flowing out of the truck.
dropped load and rolled to local KW shop. “Yup, it’s leaking”… no kidding, thanks… LOL
So now I’m sitting in Lincoln for the weekend until Monday to see what needs to be ordered blah blah blah… wait n see status.
So ya, I might now be starting my Thanksgiving RTO a bit early.
ugh. Hoping to catch up in December.

Maybe soon I’ll be joining you guys. I’ve got 1 wk down and 3 or 4 more to go. Got my CDL permit. Now to pass that Pre-Trip test… I can’t remember like I used to be able to, but I’m trying my best. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Focus on the brakes…. Chambers and slack adjusters. Very gently tug on the belts, or just point and explain what they are and what they do. If you can get one, get a tire tread depth tester and test those.
you got this!!Silverdriver, Cherokee65 and cdavis188 Thank this. -
Everything is a step on the path… take one step at a time and tackle each portion as it comes. Know that once you get through this phase (CDL Class) and the next one (training) you will get into a personal daily routine and it all smooths out.

CWC in Nashville could’ve passed for a satellite terminal for FCC. There were at least 9 of our trucks on the premises when I got there, either unloading, waiting, or pulling in.
Got empty in 10 mins from arrival, called dispatch to verify going home plan. Confirmed and headed home. Currently on the couch with the youngest watching cartoons. I’ll be back out next MondayFriend, DonRobbie, Silverdriver and 6 others Thank this. -
