Theoretically, you have a choice between an auto and a manual. The reality is they haven’t bought any manuals in a few years and I think all of of the manuals have been claimed by someone who will have to the keys pried out of their cold dead hands. It doesn’t hurt to ask if you want a manual but it’s almost certainly going to be an automatic.
In terms of packing, I’ve found as a practical matter I can only really fit a weeks worth of clothes in. On 48 states you’ll be all over the country so you probably want to have something for any climate. Right now I have 2 thin long sleeve shirts that’ll work in the south and then four cool to cold weather shirts, and one artic undershirt; 2 pairs of thin pants, 3 pairs of reasonably warm jeans, and one pair of flannel lined pants; and a weeks worth of socks and underwear. That’s what will fit in one bag. I also have a duffel bag for my showers where I keep my toiletries and one change of clothes so I have something compact when I run in(a small backpack will work too). Then the 3rd bag I have is a laundry bag (with a side pocket where I keep detergent).
Storage space is limited in the truck so you probably want to talk to your trainer about how much he wants you to bring and how often you will be able to do laundry (The Fremont and Council Bluffs terminals have a washer and dryer free for drivers use and most truckstops have pay machines (some take change, but I think it’s more practical to pay with a card or the CSC app (there will be a QR code on the machines to get the app)

They did a video explaining this year’s benefits on the safety Facebook group (I assume it’s on LUMA too by now). I’m going to try to watch it this weekend.

2022 DD 13/DT12 (company truck). I accidentally reset it several months ago so it probably will go down in the winter.

Thank you for the info. I appreciate it very much.
Breaktime in Jefferson City, Missouri built a new truck stop on Militia Drive that has showers, a washer and dryer free for truckers, a BBQ place and Cat Scales. It’s a small truck stop but it’s clean.

I got a 23 and it says 6.9 -7.3. But I leave mine in manual mode a lot. I’m sure mountains don’t help. Maybe a heavy foot. Lol

Why is there such a difference in pay between Midwest regional, southwest regional and OTR? The website lists it at an average of 85k, 75k and 99k respectively. Is that accurate?
