Of course this was the only empty in Valley today. Took it to Fremont and bobtailed home. Gonna see how things look on Monday, might just take a couple weeks off.

OTR pay will show up as a separate 6 CPM “Longhaul Differential.” I thought the base pay (which you’d make no matter what fleet you are on ranged from 49 to 60 cents per mile depending on work history, experience, etc.
So for instance, right now I make 58 cpm base pay plus the 6 cpm longhaul differential so I am making 64 cpm but it shows up as two separate lines on my pay stub. The base pay will be broken out by load, but the longhaul differential will be for all the miles in the week.
Your bonus is 4-6 cpm paid quarterly depending on how many miles you ran in the last quarter. 30,000-31,999 miles pays 4 cpm, 32,000-33,999 pays 5, and 34k+ pays 6. The quarterly bonus comes as a separate check about a month after the end of the quarter.
They explain it all in orientation and it’s pretty straightforward.

They probably wanted it to show up in the same condition it left in.

Delivered in Huntersville, NC than got a broker load out of Dabdridge, Tn. going to Geneva, Al. for Monday. From there I will be 90 miles from the house, so I should be home tomorrow by 1000.

In this business I have realized sometimes you have to know when to pick your battles. I know FCC has to do some amazing things to get drivers home for major holidays.

So with that being said this broker load the shipper was affected and he I 40 closure which caused me to drive an additional 70 miles out of route that make the pick up. The broker and FCC both declined to pay me the extra mileage. Under normal circumstances I would have told both parties to bug off. Im not a charity, but it was the load to get me home for Christmas, and I know the planners were busting the humps to put the puzzle together to get drivers home. So I chose not to fight that battle.

I had sort of the same situation this week. My dispatcher calls and tells me that Thursday the 26th I have to go to Chattanooga. Usually no problem but Saturday (28th) we are celebrating Christmas with our kids. Instead of being difficult and turning down that load, we figured out what should be a workable solution.
