i can but i choose to park one of my cars at the terminal. Too many times i’ve taken a 34 on the yard and i just sit in my truck because i can’t really go anywhere. And that drive isn’t so bad if i only do it once a month. Plus at least i can do the speed limit going home instead of trundling along I-80 at 65-68

We still have a few vehicles at home, a couple of which are still parked at the airport so i can still go home in my truck and have a car to drive

And also, my Town Car is without a doubt one of the best vehicles for commuting once a month between the terminal and home. It feels so nice to drive after bouncing around in a Freightshaker for weeks IMG_4572.jpeg

That makes sense then. Especially if you aren’t paid for the out of route miles to the house and back.

I totally feel the freightshaker comment. Ugh! Hadn’t driven one since my training days. Everything hurts after a week of driving it. But, FFE only has those and KWs and even though the ride may be better, I just don’t like a KW. I can’t see over the dash unless the seat is high up and if the seat is high up, I can’t reach the pedals. #shortgirlproblems

I’m the opposite. I feel sardine canned in this Freightliner. The KW’s are roomier for me and the difference between the two is quite shocking. That’s the reason why i parked my first Freightliner back at the yard and got into a 579. The problem is that our Peterbilts have all mileaged out and they’re getting rid of T680’s due to engine problems, so i’m kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place.

I wholly believe that i got major bruises where i did in my accident last September because i’m cramped in the Freightliner. You know it’s bad when a driver wants to get out of a truck with 60k miles into a truck that has 2-300k on it

For that rate, I would try to find an LTL carrier that would take you on and let you get some experience. Home daily or weekly depends on if you want to do linehaul or local pick up and delivery. Most will start at $29/hour or .60 a mile. A bunch are more than that. Depends on where you're at. Look at Saia, Magnum, Dayton, etc.

Unloaded and reloaded in Ontario on Monday. Delivering in Salem, OR then pickup in Eugene. Then headed east. Not sure how the local/regional guys do it here. 700+ miles of the 55mph speed limit in CA just sucks.

Does anybody actually do the posted downhill speed limits?
