Delivered my racks this morning in Lincoln after the two stop pickup that made the load.
Next move, deadhead to CB for a load of poles that’s sitting on the yard, for a “job site” delivery Tuesday morning in Anaheim. Looks like I’ll be unloading between where the Ducks and Angels play.
I have instructions to call 48hrs before delivery to verify.Goody3635, hotrod1653, DonRobbie and 3 others Thank this. -

Thanks,
Runningman.
I have to wait until March for a trainer. But I'm on the list -
Well Schneider it is… W. Memphis training on the 27th. Can’t believe the training pay- $10/hr for 3 weeks then 42cpm. Beggars can’t be choosers and I’ve got to get my foot in the door somehow. I’m not real happy about it but my bills don’t care where the money comes from and I don’t want to end up homeless. Schneider puts you up in a hotel room with another person. That sucks as well.
Long FLD, cdavis188, hope not dumb twucker and 1 other person Thank this. -

It's a different world and a different company now but Schneider did alright by me starting out 21 years ago. Learned a lot and pretty much every problem I've had in a truck could have been avoided with what they taught. Take your time, if you are unsure about something, stop and think before you try to do it. When you make a mistake try to learn from it.
They don't pay well, but you can get a leg up there. After a year of safe and steady work, doors will open for better opportunity.
I know you want to stay at the place that hires you and good on you for that but one thing I would think about is if in the future you decide to move on you'll need a couple non-relatives to vouch for you and or some documentation for what you have been up to while you were unemployed. Also you might make sure you have the contact information and dates for all your past employers The DOT requires 10 years of employment history and companies get more had nosed about that when you are hiring on as an experienced driver.
For that matter I would try to get all that written down and also any drivers license numbers and accidents you have had in the past few years. When I started (granted 21 years ago) there were several people in my training class that got booted early on because there was some issue with their record and they didn't really seriously look at it until you showed up. I had a near miss because I didn't know my Kansas driver's license number from 4 years prior (thank God I was from a small town so I called my insurance agent from several years ago and the gal looked it up for me which saved me from being put on the Grey Dog of shame).
Anyway that's probably too long and scolding but most importantly, Congratulations, be safe, take care of yourself, and don't be a stranger.Knucklehead, hotrod1653, runningman0661 and 2 others Thank this.
