I’d personally throw company policy out the window in that situation, get as far as i can with the hours available, then PC home. Especially on regional, if you can’t get home with the hours you have left despite letting them know, that’s 100% fault on their end, not yours

 

Sitting in CB for an 8000 mile check. Not sure what this crap falling from the sky is, but it’s like being blasted with rock salt .

 

Even without the wind i highly doubt i’d be able to get much north of Salina. I have an 11 am appointment tomorrow morning in Omaha area. I’m not so sure i’ll be able to make that

 

Made it to Tonkawa, OK for a shower. If anything my tractor has been unstable in these winds. I’ve been keeping on eye on my mirrors and my trailer hasn’t even threatened to get squirrelly once

Well i made it home. It was good for the most part until i got a few miles outside of town, and then #### got real. Almost 50 mph sustained with 70+ gusts, and i can assure you that’s true.

 

I think so. Coming from the East, hitting similar winds. I did go through Montana with 65mph gusts at 79k and was fine.

Here's what I found. Just a suggestion of course.

 

Delivered a load of animal feed in CT on Monday. Of course there was an odor in the trailer from whatever they added to the feed, so when I went to pick up from BD in Canaan they rejected the empty. A full can of coffee, open doors, and three hours later they accepted it. I sat in the parking lot of the local grocery store to do it. Otherwise, nearest parking spot is 5 miles away in Massachusetts.

The shortest route from Canaan back to a westbound interstate involves a scenic drive with speed limits of mainly 40mph through windy, hilly roads in backwoods CT and then NY. An hour and a half or more averaging maybe 30mph.....
