That's one feature I loved on my Peterbilt (I believe KW's are the same way). You couldn't lock the door if it was open for any reason. So i couldn't lock my truck from the outside until I shut the door
I wish all manufacturers did that

It's probably a wire getting hot or something it just randomly shuts the apu off then it restarts no codes I guess it's related to the recall in some way or another.
