Another day in paradise, picked up a fairly new wagon in Victorville. The caulk was gone between the nose plate and the floor and there was a chunk out of the sidewall of one of the tires (I think it was leaking but tinnitus sucks). I caulked it (not a job I’d want to show my mom but it should keep the water out) and now I’m chilling for at least a couple hours while I wait for the TA shop to get me in to change the tire.

They should change your pay from mileage to shop pay! Seems you do more of that than driving
mitrucker, Knucklehead and DonRobbie Thank this. -
Did FCC turn up top speed? I do a solid 73 on cruise and he passed me
Knucklehead Thanks this. -
Not as far as I know. Owner Operators are required to keep it 75 or under. Company trucks are governed at 69 and supposed to keep it down to 70 or under on downhills, I believe CDavis said l/p trucks are governed at 70.

Where to pick up at in this conversation.
My wife loves her 2023 Highlander w/ the 2.5 4 cyl hybrid.
My favorite car we’ve ever owned probably would be the 2013 Camry SE that we had before upgrading and swapping and changing vehicles a few times.
I’ve owned a 2004 Silverado with a 5.3 & 4L60 that NEVER gave any problems, while a couple friends had 4L60s with the “all neutrals” package.
I like to think of vehicles in a way of, when you’re in your home town, what brands do you hear commercials for while listening to the radio… Ford, Nissan, Mitsubishi, etc..
Not that often I recall very many Honda or Toyotas ads on the terrestrial dial.
Trucking related topic for this post.. Nebraska - California - Nebraska- California. Home time not until after Labor Day. So probably gonna have another California before I go home. However dispatch did call and ask if I wanted to venture a load of wall panels to Key West the other day as he was making rounds down his list of drivers. I gave him the answer of “if no one wants it, I’ll take it”Knucklehead and Rugerfan Thank this. -
Knucklehead Thanks this.

Finally got the tire swapped but missed the shipper’s hours so will be picking it up when they open tomorrow and getting to Texas on Tuesday instead of Monday.
Knucklehead Thanks this. -
this has been one of those nights where I wish night dispatch could dispatch loads. Like I don't care if it's a load of #### going to Timbuktu, just get me out and away from the house
Knucklehead Thanks this.
