I checked out the Pathfinder. Wife isn't crazy about Nissan. We put 300k on our Odyssey. I regretted getting a Subaru instead of a Pilot, when we tested both. If we had, we'd likely have run it til it stopped. Honda is that good.

I'm not a fan of Nissan unless it's their trucks. But they discontinued the Titan and I don't fit at all in the Frontier unfortunately

I'm sure they've long since fixed it but Odyssey's used to have a real nasty habit of grenading transmissions. My only experience with vans are Chrysler ones, which weren't much better

does Honda still use timing belts on their V6's, or did they finally do away with that?

My company has a bunch of Dodge/Chrysler vans for drivers to use at our terminals. I've driven 6 different ones and the AC doesn't work on any of them. They also usually have check engine lights

A dealer said that starting in 18 they're all chains.

Our Odyssey was an 07/ We never had an issue with the transmission. Only changed the timing belt once; and that was our biggest repair over 300k miles. I think it cost us $800. By the end, both sliding doors were hard to open; rear wiper didn't work; and I believe the blower fan wasn't working (or AC). But the thing ran and ran, and would not stop.

Honda's are made for comfort, unlike Toyota. I had an 18 Rav-4, and it was not comfortable. 2nd to the top trim (XSE), and it didn't even have heated side mirrors. They nickle and dime EVERYTHING. I really wanted a Tacoma, because they're the only pickup not named Jeepskate to have manual trans. Being that these aren't their elite trim, you had to buy two packages, suck someone off, and be the recipient of bukake, in order to get leather seats. 4Runners are the same way, as far as being expensive for the rock bottom of luxuries and necessities.

Drivers treat everyone else's #### like ####. Can't have anything nice around them, as a whole.

On a Dodge, that little engine light means the engine hasn't fallen out yet. As far as the A/C, if they're newer than 2015, then it's the new YF refrigerant system, and a lot of shops (especially a trucking company shop) doesn't have the new HVAC equipment to work on it. It takes an entirely different system than the old 134 refrigerant used, and you can't mix the two. And it's way more expensive to take it to an outside shop that has the new equipment. My wife's Ram cost us over $3500 the 1st time it went out, and it lasted only a year before the new compressor croaked again, and even with the warranty on the new compressor, it still cost almost another $1000 for labor and refrigerant (which isn't covered under the new compressor's warranty). And unlike the old 134 system, it isn't a DIY project.

    Cobrawastaken Thanks this.

The two Chrysler vans we have have pretty wimpy A/C's as well. Pretty much every vehicle I've had has had better A/C's, at least the ones that worked in the first place

I've noticed that most smaller crossovers ride like lumber wagons for some reason. Having an XSE model didn't help that case at all. Friend has a Ford Escape, roommates mom has a Nissan Rogue. I think I'd rather ride in a wheelbarrow. While no Lincoln, my car rides quite well compared to other newer cars I've driven.

Also Toyota isn't the only company to do that crap. I remember my old high school principal bought a brand new 2015 Outback, but in order to get one feature he wanted, he had to buy a couple of packages of crap he didn't really want just to get said feature.

I bought a plain jane car for a reason. Cloth seats, because I'm done dealing with leather for awhile, and because a lot of upper trims on any car comes with a sunroof. Head room is already at a premium in most vehicles i sit in, so sunroofs are a no go for me.

That's probably true for some of them, but most of the time I hear a bunch of clicking under the dash so I suspect the blend door is messed up on those
