I got a kick out of that too!Hell, my annual raise is coming up, I think I'll tell them I deserve 70!!... I mean, really man! It's one thing to think you deserve that, I respect that. But it's totally different when you think you are going to start out at that!.. not saying there aren't jobs out there that one could start out at a rate like that, but they are few and far between, and even fewer if you're looking for a reputable company on a W-2!..

 

Experience should matter a ton on pay I put my time in that's why I say I'm worth that. It's not a deal breaker if I get 58-60. No tickets or accidents. It's not a reach to think I'm worth that.

 

You put your time in elsewhere, why should you be rewarded for that?

 

If everybody was paid by what they thought they were worth trucking would be a sweet gig. I have a friend that works at ABF I think he told me they are at 68 and change, good luck getting 65 out of an OTR truckload company.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thought this was completely absurd! I am on the S W Regional fleet, so I can't speak to what the guys on the OTR fleet start out at, but I know #### well you wouldn't start out at 58-60 on this Fleet, and I doubt you would on the OTR either, or any other reputable company for that matter. With a good driving record and good employment record you could definitely start in the 50s... seriously though, I really don't understand why this is a question in the first place? I mean, if you have an application in with FCC and have already started that process, you would have definitely been told by a recruiter what you would start out at providing everything you told them checks out. Contrary to some other companies out there, our recruiters don't lie oh, and they don't sugarcoat things. What they tell you is what you can expect. The reason no one ever talks about what they make on here or our specific numbers is that, aside from the fact that it is private information and quite frankly no one else's business, it is also completely irrelevant! Whatever number I or any other driver here started out it would mean absolutely nothing to you due to the simple fact that everyone has different experience levels, length of time at the previous employers oh, and The Fleets they drive on also pay a different rate. If everyone here started out at the same flat rate that would be different, but that simply is not the case. Now, with that said. With your experience level you should know that more cents per mile does not necessarily equal a better job ie: if one outfit offers you $0.65 per mile but you end up being lucky to average 2000 - 2200 miles per week you'd be much better off taking a little lower paying job that consistently could the average 2800 - 3000 miles per week. It seems like this is always a Never Ending Story in trucking. Someone always gets unhappy and wants to jump ship for an extra 1-2 cents per mile. Then they find out they aren't getting the same miles and are really making less money. Not to mention, what do they do when that fly-by-night company closes their doors and shuts off their fuel card and leave the driver stranded God knows where out on the road. Long story short, FCC is a really good company, are they a good fit for everyone, probably not. But no place is. Are they going to start you out at 58-60 cents per mile? No! But if you find that someplace else and you are happy with it more power to you

 

The pay rates for drivers are up almost everywhere...it's comical to see places offering anything in the mid 50's/mile or lower...and these higher places are W2 and no white Volvo's with your 1st set of flip-flops as a sign on bonus included with your 1st load.

 

Everything over here is legit, generally if you're having problems here you are probably causing them, but that's just my experience here lol

 

I don’t know your experience so I’m not directing my comments to you, nor any other Driver with experience, but “experience” is like “cpm”… just pieces of a bigger puzzle.

as mentioned above, high CPM but combined with very low miles is still a Crap job.

Experience, if 2 years each at 10 different companies and fired from 5 of them is, in my opinion, actually a negative thing.

CPM here is competitive. But beyond CPM, and much more important to me, the staff is excellent, shops take Great Care of our equipment, DMs & Planners are on their game. There is a culture of mutual respect.

Office does their jobs and we do our jobs.
No drama here, just adults being adults.

If you want high CPM, stay at a good company for 15+ years… then stay 10 more.

 

Just got approved to come on board a few minutes ago . Good to hear you guys are happy with them. Straight shooters they seem like they are, I'm optimistic about fcc nice sign on bonus with the safety bonus in the first 4 months. 1 k after your first paycheck , 2 k ( 500 each month) the first 4 months safety
