Delivered in Denison, TX yesterday morning, then ran down to Dallas to grab some Gatorade that went to Gardner, KS for this morning.

Dropped that and the empty I picked up was over two months past its service due date. Had a load that I needed to pick up from the KCMO yard and I still needed to go up to Fremont to switch trucks. Deliberated between the shop and dispatch and they decided to have me drop the empty at the yard for someone else to take up to Fremont or Council Bluffs for service, then hook to my loaded trailer and bring it up to Fremont to switch trucks. Turns out my loaded trailer was also overdue for service. Called the shop to let them know and dropped it here in Fremont to have them have at it.

Here in Fremont now finishing up some paperwork. My new truck is another 2021 midroof Cascadia. Though this time it's red and white instead of white and red, and it's an auto. Has a little less miles on it too.

I'm gonna get everything switched over, probably take a shower, then head out in the morning for a Monday morning drop in Bethel, PA. I have hometime this coming Thursday and I'm now forced to run recaps so we'll see how it plays out.

 

Have a safe trip out to California. Hopefully I-40 in AZ and Cajon Pass is sorted out before you get there.

 

I haven't seen I-40 West of Santa Rosa, or I-15 my last two trips out that way. There are blizzards just north of where I am now on I-10 near Palm Springs.

 

I like how I only drove my manual for like a week and the first thing I do after pressing in the brakes in this truck is reach for the stick to put it in gear...but this is an automatic. Oh well, I'll get used to it.

 

I've driven manual most of my career. It took me 6 months in an auto to quit stomping the floor with my left foot, and waving my right hand around hunting for the shifter that isn't there.

 

No one will ever say FCC does not maintain their equipment. Their service intervals are the shortest I’ve ever seen. The ONLY thing I yearned for is air ride trailers. Even shagging around KC those soda loads could really buck a day cab around.
