J&C in Garland is one of the good ones, they will have you unloaded in 15-20 minutes, just don't show up more than 30 minutes prior to appointment time, they are strict about that, no parking around there

Look at Google satellite view to see which building they're in because they all look the same in that complex.

ETA - I always chuckled driving by the guy selling firewood on the corner about 1/4 mile before you get there. Firewood in Dallas, TX, who would've thunk it, lol.

The load I picked up in Ontario going to Goodlettsville, Tn. had me wondering how FCC was going to get me home for my scheduled home time this weekend. As always they came through, I met a driver in Goodlettsville that had a load bound for Columbia, Sc. we swapped and I will drop this tomorrow morning.

I have an appointment Monday with with my accountant to get my taxes done, I should roll out Tuesday morning. That is if a tornado doesn’t get me first in Tennessee during my 10 hour break. This area is under a tornado watch, and they are expecting wind gusts as high as high as 70mph.

I had a drop in western IL this morning of some tubs picked up in Dunn NC Wed. After I dropped, headed up to Bolingbrook but the windstorm was blowing my empty and decided to shutdown at the Farmland rest area in IL on I 74. This was around noon. Decided it was better than getting blown into the median or ditch. Fell asleep around 4 and woke up around 8 and headed up to Bolingbrook. Got there around 1030, d/h and pulled into Minooka rest area since I had about an hour left. Headed to Blair NE. IF I COULD JUST GET BACK TO SLEEP!

Running man, totally agree about the shop issue. I call in at least two hours in advance with an ETA and what I need. Sometimes, I need more than I thought because the mechanics found something else ( changing fuel filters). I would rather been down in the shop than down on the side of the road. Very little breakdown time in the 4 and a.half years at FCC!

Is anybody else's truck governed to 69 or is it just the trucks I've been assigned? Both Cascadia's I've had you could set the cruise to 69. It was my impression that we could only do 68.

It could be set at 68 but does 69.. my truck is governed at 70 but it’ll routinely do 71… Nothing out of the ordinary for that to happen though

When they calibrate the speedometer, it is accurate with 1/2 your tread life. That's why when you get new tires, your actual speed is slightly faster than what the speedo says, but when you are about due for new treads, your actual speed is slower than the speedo. My KW would go 71 according to my Garmin, but this Volvo only goes 69 at best according to Garmin...but the speedo for both said 70.

By that reasoning my speedometer app and google maps track me doing 67 most of the time. My drives are pretty worn. Not down to replacement levels yet but pretty worn to say the least. Probably still have the factory tires on. My truck has 280k something miles though, so they've probably been replaced at least once by this point.
