Picking up a broker load in Lancaster, NY near Buffalo. Shipper and reviews say that there are bridges marked below 13'6 but assures that you can make it under them. Come up to a bridge marked 12'9 and creep under it expecting to hear a crunch. It never happened.

With that near heart attack out of the way, this load is going to the Quad Cities area for anytime Wednesday.

Also had my first 'critical event reporting' deal on the ELD. A couple miles away from the shipper on surface streets and a traffic light turns yellow right at the decision point. Thought about just gunning the motor but saw oncoming traffic in the intersection waiting to turn left and decided to stand on the brakes at the last second, but I still stopped in the intersection. There was no traffic immediately in front or behind me.

Expecting a call from safety in the next few days about why I did what I did

I believe New York State marks the bridges like that to account for snow in the winter time, if I’m not mistaken

Over at my company, they're supposed to go to mid-roofs for the solo drivers to save weight. As long as FCC's loads can handle the extra few hundred pounds of truck (and drivers stuff) then condos work.

They have a cure for Lackanookie now, you just soak it in cider

They MIGHT call you, but if they can see what happened on camera you might not here from them at all.

Question: this broker load has a delivery date of anytime on the 5th (planning on delivering in early morning), but my next load is supposed to be picked up tomorrow in Shell Rock, IA at Menards. Since I'm just picking up a preloaded trailer there, does the pick up date matter? I plan on dropping it at the Menards in Shelby the same day.

    bzinger Thanks this.

My issues with mid roofs is that I'm 6'9, and I'm unable to stand up straight without titling my head at some weird angle and causing unnecessary neck stiffness. Not great when you live in your truck for 80% of the time.

Nope, as long as it's already loaded. If there's no trailer number and the pickup time is for the next day or going to be after you get there then ya might want to check on it, but if it's showing a pickup time of a couple days ago or something don't worry, no biggie

Got empty in Liberty, Sc Monday morning, bounced over to Chatsworth, Ga. Picked up a preloaded Menards two stopper. Deliver in Shell Rock, Ia. in the morning, and then drop the remaining trailer at the Valley DC.

I shut down earlier today than I wanted to, but after looking at the forecast, the farther North I go, the higher the tornado threat. Even here in New London, Mo. they are calling for the possibility of tornadoes and hail tonight. Could be an interesting night.

####, you were right behind me, I stopped for a shower in New London a couple hours ago, taking a load from Tell City, IN to Drop on the Lincoln yard today, then off to Aurora to pick up my load home, headed home tomorrow, off Thursday-Sunday getting my taxes done, hopefully the truck sinage and a bunch of other stuff at home. Looking forward to getting home after the last couple weeks. Guess I'll be back to normal sw region Monday, it has been nice staying out of Texas for a while though
